   Michael. Thanks for the plugin! I have a small problem, when trying to upload the my-finds.gpx I get the following error(s):

   ————-
   Warning: simplexml_load_file() [function.simplexml-load-file]: :1: parser error : Start tag expected, ‘<’ not found in /home/collinf/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gcstats/classes/GpxDocument.php on line 295
   ————-

   Any ideas?

   Hi Michael. Got it working – I had tried to upload the ZIP instead of the GPX. It’s working now at http://www.cornellfinch.com/geocaching/

   Thanks for a cool plugin!

   A couple of ideas:

   1. Can we have the Cache Name as well as the GC code in the last 5 found?

   2. Widget that simply shows number of finds/hides and a quick link to the GC profile. As well as the type breakdown of course.

   the plugin works not under PHP 4. So i can’t use the stats. If its possible change it and i will smile

   Sorry, this plugin will never work under PHP4 as the simpleXML-Module of PHP needs PHP5. (and gcStats needs simpleXML)

   Why don’t upgrade to PHP5?

   Because of my very old contract with Hosteurope. To change to PHP5 i need to switsch my contract and pay more then now.

   Hi Michael

   Two things:

   1. Would it be possible to write the “updates” in English as well as German so that us uneducated can read them too?

   2. I have just tried to upload my latest “myFinds” GPX using the latest version of the plugin and it failed with quite a number of database errors. I disabled the plugin and when re-enabling it I got

   WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '1' at line 1]

   Any ideas? Thanks!

   ist es möglich, das tool auch für php4 verfügbar zu machen?
   fände es nicht soooo toll, wenn ich meinen webserver komplett umstellen muss

    Hallo Michael,

    ich hab mal ne Frage zu deinem Plugin: Ich würd es auch sehr gerne nutze, allerdings muss ich ja, um diese MyFinds.gpx zu bekommen, Premium Memeber auf GC.com sein, oder?
    Wenn ich mir den jetzt für 3 Monate hole, hab ich ja nicht lange was von dem Plugin, oder? Ich muss doch nach jedem neuen Fund die gpx-Datei neu hochladen, oder?

    Hallo heeshunter,

    Ja, Du musst Premium Member sein, anders kannst Du keine Pocket Queries erzeugen. Bei 3 Monaten Premium Member (geht das überhaupt?) kannst Du also 12 mal (=12 Wochen) diese Pocket Query erzeugen und die Datei dann im Plugin hochladen.
    Leider gibt es keine (legale) andere Möglichkeit, an Deine Funde heranzukommen. Einen RSS-Feed lehnt GC.com leider ab..

    Hello,

    I think it’s a great plugin for WP, but I can’t get it working. After installation I can upload my .GPX-file, But than the screen blanks and nothing happens. Clicking the “Back”-button returns to the upload screen.. What am I doing wrong?

    After sharing some tips with Michael, the problem was solved: just needed rights on the upload folder:
    chmod -R 777 path/to/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/gcstats/upload

    After that it works perfectly!

    Hallo Michael,
    habe endlich mal dein Plugin eingerichtet und hänge aber noch an einem kleinen Problem mit der OSM-Karte. Wenn ich als Shortcode [ osm_map import="gcstats, Warstein"] verwende, bekomme ich zwar die Karte angezeigt, aber die Caches sind nicht enthalten (obwohl das Overlay “GeoCache” als vorhanden angezeigt wird). Wenn ich das Leerzeichen wegmache, so wie du es hier auch angibst, läd die gesamte Seite gar nicht erst.
    Woran kann das liegen?

      @Holga:
      Für das Nichtanzeigen der Caches kann es unterschiedliche Gründe geben zB:
      * die Caches liegen ausserhalb des des angezeigten Bereiches
      * der Username ist falsch (in dem Fall “Warstein”)
      Kannst Du einen Link zu Deinem posting/page mit der Karte posten/mailen?

    Unser Blog wird von zwei Personen befeuert und ich hätte die Stats gerne für beide getrennt dargestellt.

    Hallo,
    schönes Plugin, die Flash-Grafiken gefallen. Aber kann man nicht einfach auf die Überschrift verzichten? Ich mag das Denglisch nicht so wirklich. Und die Karte funktioniert nicht wirklich, obwohl das andere Plugin auch läuft.

      Hallo Henry,
      Auf die Überschrift kann man verzichten. Man muss dazu nur das Attribut title=”" einfügen.
      Beispiel: [GCSTATS type="container" title="" useflash="yes" ]

      Leider habe ich keine Gewalt über das Karten-Plugin, wenn zuviele Daten verarbeitet werden sollen, spielt das JavaScript verrückt (braucht zulange).
      Habe den Autor schon mal angeschrieben deswegen, habe aber keine Rückmeldung bekommen, auch ein Update kam schon lange nicht mehr.

    Greetings from Arizona. I’m trying to use your gcStats plugin, and I see an instruction to upload the myFinds-GPX-File from geocaching.com and insert shortcodes. Where do I upload this to? Thanks for creating the plugin

    Hi Michael,

    I got it working, I can upload myfind, I can see my finds….. so everything is working i guess. But the shortcodes don’t work. For example when I use [ GCSTATS type="lastfounds" number="5" ] in the htm-section off a post it shows [ GCSTATS type="lastfounds" number="5" ] in the post and not the result off the shortcode. Is there someting that I’m doing wrong.

      Hi Pascali,

      Do you have a whitespace between the [ and GCSTATS ? If yes, please remove it and try again.

    The widget only displays a single bar with the number of found caches and the percentage “100%” which is not very useful. Isn’t the widget supposed to display the same as [GCSTATS type="container" ]?

    I tried the [GCSTATS type="container" ] code in the regular WP text widget but the code gets rendered as normal text.
